The Middle East is an area where vehicle is king and fuel is cheap, frequently leaving little incentive to find more environmentally-friendly ways of moving.
But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have actually risen the rate of oil, the concern of finding alternative sources of fuel has come into sharp focus.
In a region that has one of the greatest carbon footprints on the planet, one organization is making the most of the growing pressure to find options to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first scheme to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing rewarding too, already their client-list consists of McDonald's.
